Zijin Gold agrees to buy Allied Gold for C$5.5bn in cash
Zijin Gold International offered C$44 a share in cash, a premium of about 27% to Allied Gold’s 30-day average price. Allied owns gold mines and projects in Africa, including Sadiola in Mali and Kurmuk in Ethiopia. Closing was expected by late April.

Why it matters. All-cash offers give certainty of value, but cross-border deals depend on approvals in several countries.
