Gold Road shareholders approve Gold Fields’ takeover
More than 99% of votes cast backed the scheme, giving Gold Fields full ownership of the Gruyere gold mine in Western Australia. The vote ended a long takeover battle between the former joint-venture partners.
Why it matters. Once a board recommends a scheme, the shareholder vote is usually a formality, but the 75% threshold still has to be met.
